MP Shaon inspects Meghna River to stop illegal fishing

MP Alhaj Noornabi Chowdhury Shaon has visited the river to stop illegal nets from the Meghna river in Bhola.

On Tuesday morning, he took a speedboat from the sluicegate area of Tajumuddin to the river to talk to the fishermen directly, while Bhola District Fisheries Officer Molla Emdadullah and Tajumuddin Upazila Executive Officer Maryam Begum were with him.

Upazila Fisheries Officer Amir Hossain said that the local administration is determined to protect fish resources including hilsa as per the instructions of the government.

Upazila Vice Chairman Mohiuddin Poddar, Upazila Aomi League General Secretary Fazlul Haque Deoan, Chandpur Chairman Shahidullah Kiran, Sonapur Chairman Mehedi Hasan Mishu, Press Club President Rafiq Sadi, Upazila Sramik League President Abdul Alim Tutul, Shashiganj Fish Association President Abul Hashem Mahajan, BRDB Chairman Amin Mahajan and others participated in the inspection.
