Two children drown in Kurigram

Two children died after drowning in Rajibpur upazila of Kujigram, Arafat (13) son of Saifuddin of Banchar Char village of Roumari upazila and Ridon (3) son of Zahidul Islam of Bai Dangi village of Rajibpur upazila.

The incident took place on Saturday (November 26, 2022) at around 6 pm in a pond in the Baidangi area of Sadar Unit of the upazila.

According to local sources, two children are in the pond next to the two. They were fishing. At one point they went to the water without everyone's knowledge. After a lot of searching, they saw the shoes of their feet floating in the pond. They immediately rescued them from the pond and took them to Rajibpur Upazila Health Complex.

In this context, Rajibpur police station OC Mozaharul Islam said, "There was no complaint from the family of the two children that the body was handed over to the family and the body was handed over to the family."
