Five BNP leaders in Lakshmipur jailed

The court sent five BNP leaders including Jubo Dal leader AKM Farid Uddin to jail on Sunday (November 27) at around 11 am, the District and Datta Judge Court Judge Mohammad Rahibul Islam rejected their bail application and sent them to jail.

This is the district youth party member secretary Abdul Alim Humanu and joint convener Said Rashidul Hasan Lincoln, including more than half a hundred leaders and activists who were seen chanting slogans in the court of the court.

Laxmipur Judge Court Public Counsel (PP) Jasim Uddin Janiz, Alauddin's murder case, five accused including Farid, got six weeks bail from the high court. They came to the Laxmipur Judge Court and again applied for bail. After the hearing, the judge denied the bail and ordered them to be sent to jail.

Arrested Farid District Jubo Dal joint convener and resident of Dakshin Hamchadi Unit of Sadar Upazila and others arrested are Sadar (West) Upazila BNP Joint Convener Abdul Gani, Yudbal leader Akhtar Hossain, Shipon and Parvez. They are held under the leadership of various units of Juba Dal.

According to sources, on the night of September 30, the vice-president of Basshikpur Uniiton Jubo League of Sadar Upazila was shot dead. The next day his son Mehdi Hasan Akash was named as 14 people and 20 people were named as unidentified accused. The accused persons named Javed, Saiful and Suman were in jail.

Hasibur Rahman, the lawyer for the accused and the joint convener of the district BNP, said, ‘This is a political vengeance case. None of the arrested persons including Farid and Gani are involved in the murder. We will apply for their bail in the High Court.’ We are hopeful that the High Court will grant them bail.’
