Woman dies in DU accident: Case filed under Road Transport Act

Rakib Hossain, brother of deceased Rubina Akhtar, in Dhaka University (DU) area of Shahbag police station in the capital, filed a case in Shahbag Thana.

Shahbag police station duty officer SI Kamrun Nahar confirmed this information on Saturday (December 3) morning.

He said, the case is that the proctor of DU. Golam Rabbani has been accused.

The deceased Rubina Akhter (55) is a resident of Tejgaon in the capital, who died in the afternoon on Friday (December 2) and her body was kept at the emergency department morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

According to the family, Rubina Akhtar was going to her sister's house from Tejgaon's house in Hazaribagh. When she reached in front of the Shahbagh museum, she was dragged by a private car from behind and dragged her up to a kilometer after taking Dhame to Dhame but she did not have life in her body.

After the accident, the driver of the private car was washed away by the local people, he was named Zafar Shah, who was the former associate professor of the international department of Dhaka University, and later he was given the same name as the DU Proctor Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani confirmed the identity of the teacher at DMK Hospital.
