Engineer Mahbur Rahman has joined the post of Director General of Bangladesh Water Development Board and joined the post on Sunday. He was previously in charge of the Additional Director General of the Board (East Registration).

Engineer Mahbour graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUTE) in 1987 with a B.Sc in Civil Engineering degree. He joined the Panel Unadyan Board as Assistant Engineer (Pur) in 1989.

In his career he is Teesta Barrage project design and planning, Khulna-Jesore water drainage project, Ganga Barrage Survey Project, various important river bank conservation projects, irrigation and flood control projects, participated in various seminars and training in various seminars and training in China, Australia, Netherlands and Thailand in 1964. He was born in Dinajpur in 1964. He was a lifelong engineer in Bangladesh.
