Allegations of land grabbing of government seed store in Botalmari of Faridpur have been found.
It is alleged that the influential circles have occupied the land of the seed store of Ghoshpur Union of the upazila and built the paved building and occupied it.
At present, the farmers are suffering no seed store in that area. Recently, after discussion on the upazila development committee meeting, the concerned authorities have come to the attention of the concerned authorities.
It is reported that this seed store was built on the 14th century land adjacent to Dharmahata Mauza of Bhimpur Bazar in Ghoshpur Unitn, where there was a coterminator of the paved building of the Ced Store, the godown and one block supervisor, who was also there.
On the ground, it has been seen that the building of the Sid Store in Dharmahati Mauza is not present. Former Chetman Sardar Mujibur Rahman of Ghoshpur UP has built a paved residence in the land and has built a garden and a two-storey market building on the remaining land.
When asked about this, Mojibur Rahman admitted that the paved building of the seed store was built on their land with the efforts of his father late Sardar Mozammel Hossain, but after the cyclone collapsed, it was unusable and then it was demolished, he said. He has also given some land in the nearby Bhimpur market in the neighboring Bhimpur market.
However, according to Mojibur Rahman's claim, the locals said that they did not get any existence of the seed store in Bhimpur market. The locals said that this land has been given to the seed store. However, they do not know how these shopkeepers are doing business in that land. And Mojibur Rahman says that these houses have been raised on the basis of market matching.
Md Farooq Hossain, chairman of Ghoshpur Union, said his area is an agricultural area. That is why the seed store was set up here, he said, it is heard that the seed store has been exchanged but what can it do is the question. In this regard, the upazila has been asked to restore the Syd store.
In this regard, Botalmari Upazila Agriculture Officer Pritam Kumar Ho, said that the land of the seed store has been left unoccupied for a long time.
