Four people were killed in an Israeli airstrike near the Syrian border in eastern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health said that the attack was carried out in the early hours of Monday (February 16).

The Israeli army claimed that the attack was targeted at members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) area of Mazdal Anja.

According to Lebanon's state news agency, an Israeli drone was attacked by a group in the border area.

Four bodies were later removed from the village, the health ministry confirmed the death toll.

Although the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah came into effect in November 2024, Israel's attacks in Lebanon continue to be carried out, Israel claims that it is targeting Iran-backed groups.
