Lakshmipur: Community Policing Day 2017 is being celebrated in Lakshmipur with a colorful rally and discussion meeting under the slogan 'Police are the people, people are the police'.

On Saturday (October 28) morning, a colorful rally, initiated by the District Community Policing Cell, started from the Lakshmipur Police Superintendent's office premises and circled the main roads of the city. Later, everyone gathered for a discussion meeting at the Model Police Station.

Superintendent of Police ASM Mahtab Uddin, Additional Superintendent of Police Anirban Chakma, DI One Iqbal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Lokman Hossain, Community Policing Cell District President Syed Ziaul Huda Apu, General Secretary Zakir Hossain Bhuiyan Azad and others were present at the time.
During the event, speakers said that it is possible to eradicate drugs, terrorism, and militancy through building bridges between the police and the public.
