Farmer Banesh Richil (75), who was injured in an elephant attack on the Durgapur border in Netrakona, has died. He died while undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Thursday (December 8).

Locals said that while guarding paddy in the border area on Wednesday (December 7), Banesh saw wild elephants destroying the crops. At that time, the herd of elephants chased him and seriously injured him. On hearing his screams, locals came forward and rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex. As his condition was critical, the doctor on duty sent him to Mymensingh Medical College. He died there on Thursday while undergoing treatment.

Durgapur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rajib ul Ahsan said, 'After receiving the news, we immediately gave the money on the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner so that he could be cremated. In addition, miking is being done in the entire area to raise awareness. In addition, instructions have been given to strengthen the guard of the village police and the BGB to be on alert.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Anjana Khan Majlish said that a plan will be taken soon to resolve the border problem.
